Colorscape Suite Opus 69 for Piano Left Hand and String Orchestra
Orchestra reduction edition for Two Pianos – Download and Print Digital Edition

Written at the request of pianist Walter Morales, Colorscape Suite was created in the summer of 2025 and premiered at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh on October 19, 2025 by Morales and the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra. The piece is a further development of the original version, Colorscape Op. 62, a solo piano work for the left hand alone written in 2022. Colorscape Suite includes the first four of the original six movements: Forest Green, Brick Red, Ice Blue, and Blizzard White, supplemented by string orchestra. While the solo piano part is unchanged from the original, in this version the strings provide an introduction and interludes between the movements while contributing a vibrant string palette to the already colorful piano framework, resulting in a unified, seamlessly connected work. Forest Green is lush and expansive, Brick Red is strong, angular, and high-energy, Ice Blue is quiet, still and calm, and Blizzard White is rapid, energetic, and frenzied providing a dramatic conclusion to the 11 minute work.
