Description
Eight Reminiscences Opus 24
This dramatic, colorful set of 8 piano solos was written for pianist, Tina Faigen, who recorded them on the ACA Digital compact disc, Visions of Dunbar. As the title suggests, the works invoke the influence of harmonic and melodic styles from the great piano music created earlier in the 20th century, particularly reminiscent of the Impressionistic period. The works, however, are strikingly original, resounding with the color and expressive qualities that are always associated with Robert Schultz’s concert works. Faigen’s flawless recording is a superb reference for the composer’s intentions, and this edition, edited by Faigen, is a remarkable document to both the recording and Schultz’s original score.
