Veiled for Piano Opus 58

Completed in November, 2021, Veiled Op. 58 is the second of a series of individual concert piano works composed during the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022. The work is dedicated to Schultz’s wife, pianist Tina Faigen, who gave the premiere performance in Pittsburgh on March 8, 2022. Highly expressive and dramatic, Veiled is wonderfully pianistic and a truly rewarding experience for both performer and audience. The writing features broad, ranging melodies supported by a rich harmonic environment. The mingling of eighth note lines with arpeggiated and undulating triplet figures emerges in the introduction and becomes a primary motive in the writing. This edition is edited by the composer and Tina Faigen.
